  4. TuxMath

    TuxMath

TuxMath – Tux of Math Command

Open Source Arithmetic Tool for Children

In TuxMath a child becomes Tux (Tux is the name of a plump penguin being a Linux mascot) and protects other penguins from extraterrestrial dangers such as comets or meteorites. The game is based on solving simple mathematical tasks. Each mode of the game (there are several of them, from a single player mode to multiplayer head-to-head mode) is divided into a range of stages, each of them requiring a child to solve some other task. This allows us to adjust the game to the child’s skills and level as well as practice both some basic operations like adding, subtracting and those more advanced ones like multiplying or dividing. At the same time the game does not involve any violence against living creatures but only against some inanimate objects threatening the penguins’ life. Therefore, it can be recommended to any child, regardless of the age
